Bioinformatics and Data Science Laboratory

The Bioinformatics and Data Science Laboratory supports research by providing advanced computational infrastructure, established bioinformatics pipelines, and storage and processing resources for large-scale omics data. The laboratory develops and maintains software, web platforms, APIs, and scientific databases, enabling integrative and high-complexity analyses. Through its multidisciplinary expertise, it offers specialized services for the acquisition and development of new biological databases, as well as the processing, analysis, and interpretation of omics data, contributing to the advancement of scientific research and technological innovation.

Human Genomics and Complex Diseases

Characterization of genetic variants associated with complex diseases using statistical methods, probabilistic modeling, and general machine learning techniques, including polygenic risk prediction, population structure analysis, and mining of large genomic cohorts.

Sistems Biology and Complex Diseases

Mathematical and computational modeling of biological networks, inference of gene and regulatory interactions from large-scale omics data, and identification of emergent patterns using machine learning, graph theory, optimization methods, and artificial intelligence.

Bioinformatics, Multi-omics Integration, and Biological Databases

Development of reproducible pipelines, software tools, and biological databases for the storage, curation, integration, and analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and phenotypic data. Application of general machine learning approaches for biomarker discovery, molecular stratification of complex phenotypes, and support for data-driven precision medicine.
